Nativity Fast (November 15 –
December 25)
On November 15th, we began,
with God’s help, the forty-day
Nativity Fast in preparation for the
Feast of the Nativity of Christ on
December 25th. The Nativity
Fast is divided into two periods. The
first period is November 15th
through December 19th when
the traditional fasting discipline (no
meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, fish, wine
and oil) is observed with katalysis
(permission) for wine and oil on
Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for fish,
wine and oil on Saturdays and Sundays.
The second period is December 20th
through 24th when the
traditional fasting discipline (no
meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, fish, wine
and oil) is observed with katalysis
(permission) for wine and oil only
on Saturday and Sunday. (The
minimum is to fast at least from all
meat and dairy products the entire
fast).
For any events for all Church
Organizations, the Fast must be
respected while inside the Church.
Meaning: Lenten Food for all meals
inside the Church for any Events.
Please respect the Church’s Holy
Tradition, which is for your benefit
and not punishment!!! Have a
Blessed Fast… |
